Comparative Law is a method of discipline study of comparison of different cultures, laws, legal systems, among others. The sources of comparative law are the same as those of law, that is, Law, Jurisprudence, Doctrine and Customs. Therefore, some lawyers have stated that Comparative Law has been a doctrine. Doing a bit of history, we have that, over the centuries, comparative legal studies have been carried out in almost all the countries of the Western world, although the history of comparative law, as an autonomous
academic discipline is relatively young. The Germans authors Zweigert and Kötz, point out as the first comparative study to Plato's Laws, a work in which the philosopher compares the law of the Greek city-states. In 1900, the First International Congress of Comparative Law was held in Paris, the comparatist Lambert, indicates that this gives rise to this new science of Law
